Our conscious thoughts communicate with our subconscious mind in ways scientists have not discovered and from the number of theories on how the mind works, it’s not going to happen any time soon but the one thing everybody agrees on, the subconscious mind is incredibly powerful so you should send it as many positive messages as you can.
Your conscious thought is the project manager, painter and decorator of your life, everything you think about colours how you see the people and the world around you. You can see the world as perfect or imperfect; it will not change the world but it can have enormous effect on the world you see.
An imperfect world; if you think everybody around you is stupid, a bitch, a bastard or all three, all your subconscious mind understands is you associate with this behaviour and influence you to become like them or you will develop a defensive behaviour to not be one of these people. In both cases your behaviour has changed for the wrong reason, and not always in a good way.
A perfect world; if you think everybody around you is perfect just the way they are (warts and all), you will see people for who they are without judging them. Your subconscious mind will think everybody is perfect and will influence you to be the best possible version of you.
In both situations the world hasn’t changed but your attitude towards the world changes a great deal. When you see the world as negative, it influences you negatively; when you see the world as positive, you are influenced in a positive way.
Below are some of my favourite quotes on the topic especially the last one.
- “The positive or negative judgments we have of ourselves is one of the greatest barriers to success we build.” ~Andrew Strong.
- “If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.” ~Anon
- “The subconscious mind is the builder, plumber and electrician; the conscious mind is the project manager, painter and decorator.” ~Brendan Dunne.
- “Your body is a reflection of every conscious thought you’ve communicated to your subconscious mind.” ~Brendan Dunne.
- “The reason man may become the master of his own destiny is because he has the power to influence his own subconscious mind.” ~Napoleon Hill
- “Act with purpose, courage, confidence, competence and intelligence until these qualities ‘lock in’ to your subconscious mind.” ~Brian Tracy
- “Our subconscious minds have no sense of humor, play no jokes and cannot tell the difference between reality and an imagined thought or image. What we continually think about eventually will manifest in our lives.” ~Robert Collier
