The wheel bearing on my car keeps whining

Do not allow minor problems ruin your life.

“A minor problem can become a major problem if you only concentrate on the problem.”

It was the most annoying noise, every time I sat in the car to go anywhere, the first thing I would hear was the whining noise from the damaged wheel bearing, it spoiled every journey. The first time I brought it to my mechanic’s attention he said, “that’ll be grand for another few months,” Of course, nobody else could hear the noise at all, my children were oblivious to the noise; when I said I was going to get it fixed, my eldest said, “I was wasting money.” After following some of my own advice I began to accept the noise as part of my journey and it stopped being a problem, it became something I would fix when the time was right. That time did arrive and now I can’t remember what the noise sounded like. It’s like that with most minor issues. “Here today, forgotten tomorrow.”

The above is a typical example of only concentrating on the problem; the noise didn’t stop me from getting to my destination, it stopped my enjoyment of the journey. This happens in life, minor issues become major issues because we give far too much of our attention to them.

“What you concentrate on is what will be most important to you; always concentrate on the good stuff,”
