If you want to succeed at anything you’ve got to play by the rules, not the rules of the game but by the rules of the people playing the game. It doesn’t matter if it’s a career in politics, sport or business you want, you’ve got to learn the unwritten rules.
Being talented will only get you so far, you’ve got to ingratiate yourself with the people who are already successful, they will show you the way to be successful and may even help you get there if they like you.
