Your reality is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to what happens to you, so if you can control how you react to the world around you, you’re in control of 90 percent of your life. ~Charles R. Swindoll.
Seems fairly straight forward, your actions have consequences and if you can spend a couple of seconds identifying the possible consequences of your actions, you might not act at all. The trick is not to spend any more than a few minutes because:
While action without thought can lead to chaos; the opposite is also true, thought without action will lead to frustration. A lot of people are afraid to make the important decisions because of the “What if,” function of their brains. What if it goes wrong, what if I make a mistake, what if people don’t like me, what if I change my mind, what if they reject me, what if, what if. The most important one is: What if I end up having a wonderful life.
The secret in life is to find a balance between thought and action. Just enough thought to allow you to live the life you were always meant to live, but not to overthink things to the point where you do nothing. Remember this famous line any time you are indecisive.
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” ~Dr Seuss.
