“When you learn to be impressed by who you are, and what you do, the less you’re inclined to need anybody else’s approval.”

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” ~Dr Seuss

The world is always changing. Scientists are constantly challenging previously held beliefs about our origins. To date, there are no definite facts, but there is a strong inclination that what was believed over two thousand years ago wouldn’t be believed today. Today’s people are more skeptical. They’re inclined to want proof before they take far-fetched stories to heart.
This is not to say there is no place for religion, there’s many a person who lived a better life out of fear than out of the goodness of their heart. Of course, some of those people were not priests, as we know from stories that have been circulating over the last number of years. For those priests, I hope there is a special place for them.
I’ll leave you with two of my favourite quotes,
“Now, now my good man, this is no time to be making enemies.”
(Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking him that he renounce Satan.)”
― Voltaire
“I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn’t, than live as if there isn’t and to die to find out that there is.” ~Albert Camus
The question of religion will be left to people who are more knowledgeable than I about the topic. I’ll remain open-minded on the subject until some definitive proof is found or I find out personally.
Life can be a dreary place for some people because they go through life only using the five senses they were born with, when the sixth sense (a sense of humour) is the most important one because,

“A good sleep and a good laugh are the two best cures for anything.” ~Irish proverb

The power of positive thinking is out there for everybody to see; it’s clearly evident in every person who has it, they don’t waste their energy on things they can’t control they only concentrate on the things they can and that is themselves. They have a confidence about them that people can feel and they believe everybody in their company is laughing with them and never at them.
People who do not think positively are never sure if people are laughing with them or at them, they may blame their insecure feelings on being overweight, their appearance, career success or their personal relationships; it doesn’t matter what they blame, that insecurity will not go away unless they change the way they think about themselves.
How do they change how they react to other people’s laughter.
“Accept yourself for who you are, and not for who you think you should be.”
“Change the things you can change and change your attitude about the things you cannot.”
“The winds of heaven change suddenly; so do human fortunes.” ~ Chinese proverb.

To judge is to attach a feeling to an observation; to observe is to bear witness to an event without assigning a label “good” or “bad,” “right” or “wrong,” to the observation.
“I know what they’re going through,” “I know what they’re thinking,” I know what I’d do in their situation,” “they must be going through hell,” “how could they be so cruel,” “they must be happy or sad,” or “why do they act that way,” are typical judgement we all make, but that’s our imaginations working overtime. We couldn’t possibly know any of that information unless the people going through those events told us, and even then we could misinterpret their words or actions.
When we judge, we are creating our own version of the real story, it’s not based on facts but on our own perception of events. Although most people believe the world is a more interesting place because people judge people, places and events because if there was no judgement the majority of the world’s population would be silent; or as Eleanor Roosevelt put it;
“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”
Only the genius among us has the ability to observe without judgement and realise that is exactly the way things are meant to be, “nothing more, nothing less.”
