Nobody intentionally sets out to destroy their life

Nobody intentionally sets out to destroy their life

“I’m going to destroy my life today.” Are words nobody in their right state of mind will ever say, however, it does seem that way to bystanders, they look at their behaviour and think; do they realise the harm they’re doing to themselves? It doesn’t matter what they’re doing, whether it’s overeating, drugs, alcohol, acting violently, robbery or even something as simple as being unmannerly; their behaviour is brought about by being unable or unwilling to deal with their own thought process.

“Conceal, don’t feel.” The words from Let It Go, a Disney production is just one of the potential reasons for their behaviour, they hide from their true feelings and this causes them to act irrationally, sometimes they act badly and don’t know why because the real reason for their sadness is buried deep within their subconscious mind.

I’m not trying to justify their behaviour, that’s something they will have to do in time. What I’m saying is, their bad behaviour is the effect of hiding from the truth. This truth is different for everybody and the only way to find it is to search within themselves and accept they are responsible for everything they experienced throughout their adult lives.

Nobody intentionally sets out to destroy their life, however, it is a path people find themselves on. (figuratively and literally.” I’ll leave you with a few of my favourite quotes.

  • “Self-destruction is the path the unwary can take.” ~Anon
  • “You are who you are today because of everything you experienced that doesn’t mean that is who you will be tomorrow.” ~Self awareness brings about change.
  • “You have more control over your life than you can imagine.” ~Law of attraction.
  • “The day you have control over your thoughts is the day you control your future.” ~Anon
  • “The truth may piss you off, however, once you embrace your truth, it will set you free.” ~Anon
