Not everybody is self-aware

You cannot help everybody

Not everybody is self-aware (people who are self-aware look at the world from the inside out; people who are not self-ware look at the world from the outside in.)  And it’s not your responsibility to change them because those people journey through life quite happily believing their problems are the result of somebody else’s inaction.

They play the blame game, they blame everybody for everything. You are fighting a losing battle if you believe they are going to change because you tell them they’re wrong, that everything that’s ever gone wrong in their adult life is actually their fault.

“Not everybody who is negative knows they are negative.” ~Anon

One day they may sit down and ask the question, “why is it always happening to me?” That may start them on the road to self-discovery or it may not, that’s an answer they must find by themselves.

As adults we are responsible for everything we do and say. The paths we choose to follow are ours, if we choose the wrong path we must be strong enough and brave enough to put up our hands and say: “That was the wrong path for me, although I did learn a great deal about myself while I was following it, however, now I must choose a different path.”

“The change you wish to see in the world begins with changing your attitude towards the life you already have,” is a loose translation of  Mahatma Gandhi’s quote “‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world.’

  • “We cannot force somebody to hear a message they are not ready to receive, however, we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed.” ~Anon
  • “Every seed will one day bloom into a beautiful flower if it’s fertilized with positive energy.” ~Anon
