The truth may set you free. However, it will not make you popular because the majority of people don’t want to hear the truth.
Truth or fiction? A certain president was elected because he promised to build a wall. Britain left the European Union because the British people didn’t want emigrants entering into their country. A German nation blamed their downfall on members of a certain religion. The Catholic Crusades were not a peaceful religious mission.
When you look at the motives behind those actions, it doesn’t necessarily make for pleasant reading, but those people believed what they did was right. They probably still do.
This leads to this statement. If you want to win popular opinion, you have to bully people in a weaker position than you are. The majority of people will agree with you because they’re grateful you’re not picking on them. Truth or fiction?
What’s a popular opinion today? The world’s Governments are doing what they can to protect their people by enforcing rules for social distancing.
What’s an unpopular opinion? The majority of people were beginning to lean towards a more equal society, so the multi billionaires gathered together and devised a scheme to protect their wealth. It’s not, “who let the dogs out?” It’s “who let the virus out?”
Or are those opinions the other way round? I guess we’ll never know.
I’ll leave you with one final thought. I like the truth. However, fiction is always more interesting.
