If you think you need more, you do

Your thoughts govern your world. That’s a fact.

If you think you need more money, you will never have enough money.

If you think you need a better car, your current car will never be good enough for you.

If you think you need a bigger house, you will never live in a house that’s big enough.

If you think you need a more loving partner, you don’t love yourself enough.

If you think you deserve more happiness in your life, you’re not looking for happiness in the right places.

If you think you should be given more respect by your boss, you don’t respect what you do, and there’s a good chance you don’t respect the people who are junior to you.

If you think everybody looks down on you. That’s your thought, not theirs.

Once upon a time when humans were hunter gatherers, they were happy to have lived another day with food in their bellies, a pelt covering their skin and a roof over their heads. That doesn’t seem to make many people happy in today’s world.

I suppose that’s the price people pay for higher expectations.
