Do morale boosting competitions boost morale?

“The Winner Takes It All” is a song recorded by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was one of their most popular records. I wonder why?

There are one hundred entrants in a draw with only three prizes. We can be sure of one thing, the winner will be happy, however, there’s a possibility the winner will also be disappointed because everybody else lost..

“Everybody’s happy for winners.” I couldn’t find a single with that title.

“When one person wins, everybody wins.” This isn’t a popular title either.

“The loser’s morale is boosted by losing.” I couldn’t find this anywhere on Google.

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” ~Thomas H. Palmer

Winners are always motivated to win, they really don’t need their morale boosted.

The question still needs to be answered. Do morale boosting competitions boost morale? I’ll let you be the judge of that.

I’ll leave you with one final thought. People who can’t see how their actions can negatively impact other people should not be in charge of inspiring them either.
