“The world is your oyster.” Shakespeare. This means you can have anything you want. All you have to do is expect its arrival. I can hear the sceptical going, “Oh yeah, sure.” Please allow me to elaborate..
Some people find it difficult to believe they have no real conscious control over their own existence. However, that’s both true and false at the same time.
“How?” You may ask. It’s quite simple, the relationship between the conscious and subconscious mind is one that’s yet to be fully understood, however, if you continually send positive messages to your subconscious mind, your subconscious mind will draw your attention to information that will make you a more positive person. And as we all know, positive people live positive lives.

If you like the idea of living a positive life? Just practice the following steps on a regular basis and watch your attitude to life change.
- Expect to be rich my friends but don’t ask to be rich.
- Expect to be healthy but don’t ask for good health.
- Expect to be loved but don’t ask for love.
- Expect to have a great career but don’t ask which career.
- Expect to be happy but don’t ask for happiness.
- Expect to live for a long time but don’t ask how long.
There is a very good reason behind expecting and not asking for what you desire; and that is, every time you ask for specific things, you’re putting limits on what you think you can have.
There is a great deal of truth in the next line.
If you expect to have a good life, a good life is what you will experience.
It’s hard to dispute a good example.
I expect to wake up every day. So far I’ve not been disappointed, however, should a day come to pass when my expectations are not realised, I will not be disappointed because I will have just moved on to the next level of existence.
I’ll leave you with one of my favourite quotes on this topic.
“Perhaps you’re a slave to your own idea of yourself.” ~D.H. Lawrence.
