OVERCOMING FOMO by Trusting Serendipity

Overcoming FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) by trusting in serendipity — the idea that what’s truly meant for you won’t pass you by because you will always be at the right place at the right time.

Here’s how to build on that thought and apply it practically:

  1. Reframe Your Perspective

Instead of thinking, “I’m missing out,” shift to:
“If I was meant to be there, I would be. Something else is aligning for me.”
This helps calm the urgency and anxiety FOMO brings.

  1. Practice Presence

FOMO thrives when your mind is elsewhere. Ground yourself in the moment. Ask:
What am I experiencing right now that I’d miss if I were somewhere else?

  1. Understand the Illusion

Social media often fuels FOMO by showing curated highlights of others’ lives. Remind yourself:

You’re comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.

  1. Reconnect with Your Path

Write down what you value and want from life. Then ask:
Is what I feel I’m “missing” actually aligned with my values, or just trendy noise?

  1. Trust in Timing

Sometimes you’re not missing out — you’re being redirected. Something not working out isn’t rejection; it’s redirection.

Affirmation to repeat:

“What’s meant for me will find me. I am always in the right place at the right time.”
