“Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.” ~Mark Twain
Peace of mind is found within when you accept you are responsible for how your life is today. You made every decision, you may have been coerced, however, it was still your decision.
“You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realising who you are at the deepest level.” ~Eckhart Tolle
There are hundreds of “what if” questions that serve no purpose, however, this one is worth considering. Imagine how your mind-set would change if you believed you could not fail at anything you tried to accomplish.
Your confidence levels would soar and everybody you interacted with would notice how your words and body language perfectly matched the message you were delivering.
#Confidence is a competitive advantage.
The most important step on the road to success is believing you can reach your destination.
“Proper preparation prevents a poor performance,” a quote that encompasses every aspect of your life because when you’re prepared for what life throws at you; you will never know personal disappointment. That doesn’t mean you will not be disappointed in other people, that’s their preparation, not yours.
So how do you prepare for life: The first and most important step is preparing your mind and body. Exercise both with equal passion because if your body isn’t fit for purpose your mind will only get you so far. There are hundreds of posts on this site that provide tips on how to keep a positive mindset. I’ve only written one post on how exercise strengthens the mind but I think that’s probably one of the more important posts.
Preparation does sound like it’s something you do before a task but, life happens every day so you have to be prepared today for what tomorrow will bring. It’s a life-long philosophy.
The better prepared you are for tomorrow the easier today will be.
Step two is the easy step because once you’re prepared, every task you need to accomplish will be done easily.
The only question you need to answer is:
what do you need to know to accomplish the task and where will you find that information? I’ll leave you with a few of my favourite quotes on being prepared;
“I will prepare and one day my chance will come.” ~Abraham Lincoln.
“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” Abraham Lincoln.
“Opportunity does not waste time with those who are unprepared.” ~Idowu Kovenikan.
