You have to identify what you do not need first

you have to identify what you do not need first

The process of elimination will help you identify what you need in your life because when you eliminate everything you don’t want, everything that’s left will be good for you.

Do you want to be an acrobat? Do you want to jump out of an airplane? Do you want to be doctor? Do you want to be an actor? Do you want to travel around the world? Or do you want to travel around the world in comfort? Do you want to be a successful business owner? Do you want to run a marathon? Do you want to be loved? Do you care what other people think of your life choices?

When you’ve identified what you want, you have to ask the question. What are you prepared to give to get what you want?

That’s the important question.

If you’re paying too high a price, is it a price worth paying?

I was watching a program about Nicole Brown Simpson recently which brought about this post. The price she paid was too high, however, I don’t know at what point she realized she was going to pay the ultimate price. I wonder what she could have done to create a different ending? That’s a question we’ll never be able to answer because life doesn’t work that way.

Assumption

The majority of people will not be asked to pay that price; however, they will be asked to pay a price.

  • Anything you receive that costs you your life, dignity, freedom, or self-respect is too high a price to pay.
  • Anything you receive that costs you all your time, energy and drive is perfect as long as you’re happy to give all you’ve got.
  • If you’re only prepared to pay with some of your time, energy and drive, you can only expect to receive some of what you want.

I’ll leave you with one final thought.

Life is a balancing act, what you give to the world will be returned to you.
