The world is full of people who want to make an easy buck, they’re prepared to put hours and hours of their time searching to find the most vulnerable is society and then they try to take their hard earned money off them.
As I mentioned in the title this isn’t a laughing matter for some, but for the majority of people it is.
The majority of people upon receive a text message telling them that if they don’t click on a button and pay their outstanding taxes, the police will be knocking on their door within five minutes and they will be arrested will delete the text and go, “yeah right,” they know that’s not how the government gets their money.
Another one of the scams doing the rounds is, if you don’t pay us one hundred dollars within 24 hours we will publish what you’ve been looking up online. Think about it, if they had that kind of skill with a computer they would have hacked your computer and just taken your money.
Not to mention, your rich relative in a foreign land has just left you a big inheritance, all you have to do is pay a fee to get all that money. Smell the roses guys, if something sounds too good to be true, it is.

My favourite one is still when our concerned friend from India who has called us to let us know, somebody has hacked your personal computer today but, they can save us, all we have to do is give them access to the same computer…Telling them you don’t have a computer is usually met with silence and a dropped line.
Unfortunately, scams work because some people are honest and have little knowledge of how things really work. Less unfortunately are the people who get scammed because they’re greedy and want something for nothing. They find out to their cost that’s not how the world works either.
The only advice I would give any vulnerable person in society today is, don’t give your banking details to anybody unless you have approached them first. No company who has your banking details will call you to confirm what they already know.
