Is the rip off culture alive and kicking?

The rip off culture is when people overcharge for a service they provide.

A lot of people learned some valuable lessons about what’s really important during the pandemic, however, some greedy people didn’t and are still prepared to take money they don’t deserve. For example, we were going to get a patio built by a local tradesman. The time had been set for the job to be completed, (end of May.) The middle of June arrived and there was still no sign of the job getting completed, we contacted the tradesman and he informed us that it would be at least July before the work would be done. We had to contact him to find out when it was going to happen, he didn’t have the good sense to let us know it would be delayed so we decided to cancel. The tradesman had already carried out some of the preparation work. He had spent approximately four hours of his time and spent €120 on materials. His charge for this was €500. That’s €95 per hour he was charging for his time. I don’t know about you but if I’d known gardening was that lucrative I may have chosen a different career path.

Do you know any rip off merchants? Name and shame them in the comments section below.
