Something New Every Day

Stories and essays on identity, creative thought, and everyday common sense.

Everything revolves your relationship with yourself

Self-respect, self-worth, self-reliance, pride, and dignity. Too much, and you become narcissistic, too little, and you become a doormat.

Perfection is something that only exists in people and things you don’t know. Accept your imperfections with a smile because you’re in good company.

You and only you can determine your self-worth. Everybody has value, but nobody’s priceless.

Respect is free. Give it to everyone, even people who disagree with you. You don’t have to like someone to respect them.

Nobody achieves anything in isolation. Remember, the answer to every unasked question can’t be known.

Balance is the key. You’ve got to have a relationship with yourself that you desire to have with everyone else in your life.

You will see in everybody else a reflection of the relationship you have with yourself.

I’ll leave you with one final thought.

Do you like the people in your life? The answer will tell you nothing about those people. However, it will tell you a great deal about yourself.
