An Achilles heel is a weakness not everyone can see. Or, in other words. “Everyone’s fighting a battle you don’t understand.” Of course, all generalisations are false, including this one. There could be some people in the world who are born with so much self-confidence and self-belief that they have no weaknesses. However, I firmly believe they’re very, very rare.
I believe the majority of people fail into the following categories.
I will embrace my weaknesses.
I will ignore my weakness and hope it goes away.
I will seek to identify other people’s weaknesses and use it against them before they identify mine.

Category 1
The people who’ve embraced their weaknesses and talk openly about them without getting emotionally involved in the conversation have great strength of character. They’ve been able to look within themselves and accept that they’re not perfect and may never be perfect.
Category 2
The people who ignore their weaknesses in the hope that they will go away will spend a lot of time hiding from or trying to quieten their own thoughts. They’ll hear insults where no insult was intended because someone mentioned something that’s linked to their perceived weakness.
Category 3
The third category is the one chosen by people with the weakest character. They are the people who try to identify other people’s weaknesses to use against them so that they feel strong. If they had some understanding of how the mind works, they’d realise this has the opposite effect, because in the long-term, it will erode whatever self-confidence they’ve acquired.
Let’s say something everyone will agree with, people are complicated, there’s a good possibility people will fluctuate between how they react to their perceived weaknesses. I just hope I don’t encounter too many people who think the third category is a good way of dealing with their weaknesses. I’ll leave you with one final thought.
What you see in the world exists within you is an old saying and a very accurate way of analysing your own thought process. Try to see joy and happiness in as many people as possible.
P.S. Have you embraced and overcome a weakness you had? If yes, share your story with people who need to be inspired to do the same.
