The concept behind the matrix was that people were plugged into a computer program, and that was their life. There’s not a great deal of difference between the matrix and the internet as it’s used today by millions of people. You have to ask the question, is this a fad or a trend? The way businesses are using technology to create realistic online experiences, they believe it’s a trend. However, people will have the last word, and they may realise a life can not be lived on computer program.
The question is, what did people do for entertainment before the arrival of television and the internet? The simple answer is that they used their imaginations. For example; people wrote and told stories to frighten children, and there I say adults at Halloween, given the time of year. The story of, do you remember the time we went trick or treating online? Will never create the same memories.
You can’t remove technology, and nobody in their right mind would want to because it has improved the majority of people’s quality of life, however, it shouldn’t be used to continuously distract people from living their real life.
Remember, everything in moderation is good for you.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about an individual or a business, you cannot fix anything you choose to ignore.
If a person knows they have habits that are not good for their health but they choose to do nothing about those habits, their health will continue to suffer. They may claim they’re not able to change; however, in my book, that’s an excuse because I believe everyone has the power to change if they have the right motivation.
The same theory applies to businesses. There may be processes in place that are unsuitable for delivering the service that’s expected from their business. The business is aware of the problems but chooses to do nothing about them, so the business continues to suffer from a poor reputation. If it’s a public service, it will survive. However, if it’s operating in the private sector, its future could be in doubt. “We’ve always done it that way,” is one of the most popular excuses used by businesses. However, that’s just another way of ignoring the problem. This excuse is used by two types of managers. One is incompetent, and the other is not motivated enough to bring about the necessary changes.
I’ll leave you with one final thought.
Survival is the award for both people and businesses who make the necessary changes.
P.S. public services don’t have to worry about their survival, so they’ll never be motivated to provide a better service than the one they provide today.
Remember one thing, if you’re not happy with who you are and what you’ve got, you won’t be happy with the person you become and the things you acquire.
The day you stop thinking about what you can’t do is the day you’ll be capable of creating what some people call miracles.
Placebos have been proving this for as long as people have believed in them. There’s umpteen stories online about their effect. However, today, I’ll share a story that’s closer to home.
There’s a man who lived just outside the village where I grew up, he had what you call the gout, it was so bad, he couldn’t walk without the aid of crutches, that was until Saturday night arrived and he hobbled down the road to the local bar where he would consume as much drink as possible before the barman called time and asked everyone to leave. The man would wake up at home the next morning with a throbbing hangover, painful gout, and no crutches. The beer had numbed the mind against the pain, so he was able to walk home without the need of the crutches. Now, I’m not saying anyone with debilitating pain should become an alcoholic, that’s not going to help in the long-term, however, there must be a way of tapping into the subconscious mind and using its power to heal what people believe can’t be healed.
If you examine the gout story, you know it’s not about being more intelligent. If anything, it’s the opposite because anyone who’s interacted with drunken people knows beer doesn’t improve someone’s intelligence. So, if you can remove all sense of intelligence and just picture what you want to accomplish, your subconscious mind makes it happen. It sounds like a good plan, however, contrary to popular opinion, most people are incapable of reaching that level of stupidity, they have that sense of self that believes they have control over their own bodies.
This doesn’t mean you should be thinking you’re stupid and healthy. It’s about not thinking at all and just focusing on the image of the person you want to become. If you see that image clearly enough, your subconscious mind will guide you on your journey to becoming that person.
As you’re aware we’re talking about meditation, if you’ve never done it before, it’s going to take time to learn and master the technique, only when you’ve mastered it will you start to feel the improvements you want to see because until then your intelligence will be getting in the way.
I’ll leave you with one final thought.
From one tiny egg did you grow an entire human being. Now tell me what you can’t do?
