Why do we do the things we do

Our minds are hard wired to protect us, and that’s why we see images in the clouds. You see, in times past, we were preyed upon by wild animals, so we needed to be alert to avoid becoming a takeaway. If we spotted them before they spotted us, we lived to see another day. Thankfully, for the majority of people, those days are far behind us. However, our minds haven’t evolved to the point of not looking for potential threats, and that’s why we see images in everything from shrubs to clouds. We’re always looking for danger.

If you ever wondered why you avoided certain people but didn’t have a good reason, that works on the same principle. Your mind sees the danger signs and moves you in a different direction. Of course, if you take any substance that inhibits your mind from working properly, your mind stops looking for danger and will do whatever it wants to do regardless of the consequences.

As to why we do the things we do? Sometimes, we understand the consequences of our actions, and other times, we don’t have a clue about what we’re getting ourselves into, that only arrives through the cold light of hindsight.
