You will only notice a speck of dirt on a clean floor. You can focus your attention on the speck of dirt, or you can focus on the floor that’s spotless. Believe it or not, that analogy applies to your whole life. Positive or negative events are limited. The majority of your life consists of your daily routine. If you’re complaining about how clean your floor is, you need to throw some dirt on it, and that’ll keep you busy for a while until you learn to appreciate a clean floor.

The opposite is also true, and that’s where the light at the end of the tunnel originates. If your floor is so dirty that you can only see a small part that’s clean, focus on that and will gradually enlarge to cover the whole floor again. I’ll leave you with one final thought.
Your life is built on the ordinary, not the extraordinary.
