People with low self-esteem take everything personally. It doesn’t matter if it’s a critique from a friend or a manager. They will be deeply offended on a personal level if people disagree with them.

People with low self-esteem will even take offence if someone they dislike disagrees with them and will spend hours working out how to get back at them.

People with low self-esteem will worry incessantly about things they can’t control.

People with low self-esteem will need validation from other people.

People with low self-esteem will suffer from anxiety and stress.

People with low self-esteem are prone to illness.

People with low self-esteem have a great deal of difficulty accepting compliments.

People with low self-esteem will focus on their weaknesses instead of their strengths.

So, how do you develop high self-esteem? That’s simple. Stop doing all the things associated with people who have low self-esteem. Have a positive self-image. Believe in your own abilities. See criticism as a way of improving yourself. The last and most important thing is to develop a positive relationship with yourself.
