You don’t need to justify your values

So, you value the role religion plays in your life. That’s great, and as long as you don’t need or want other people to agree with you, you will find great joy in religion.  However, if you need or expect other people to agree with your views on religion, you will suffer because you really don’t believe in your religion.

So, you value the role time plays in your life. That’s great, and as long as you don’t need or want other people to have the same respect for time as you do, you will find great joy in the time you’ve been given. However, if you need or want other people to respect your time, you will suffer unless you find people who share your values.

So, you value the role respect plays in your life. That’s great, and as long as you don’t need or expect other people to respect the same things as you do. Respect will play an important role in your life. However, if you begin to focus on how people are being disrespectful, you will suffer because you’re concentrating on someone else’s values instead of your own.

So you value the roles integrity, fairness, kindness, and honesty play in your life. That’s great, and as long as you don’t expect or want other people to appreciate those values, too. You will find great joy in those traits. However, if you expect or need other people to exhibit the same values, then you will suffer because that’s not the reality of life.

So, you value what you bring to this world. That’s great, and as long as you don’t expect or need other other people to appreciate your values, you will always appreciate yourself. I’ll leave you with one final thought.

The person who understands their self-worth will never need to justify their values.

P.S. The person who doesn’t exhibit the values mentioned above in their work environment will spend a great deal of their time looking for work.
