The ability to pick and choose

Ben woke to morning’s light,
An ordinary day in sight,
But fate had planned a twist so grand,
A secret held in fortune’s hand.

A ticket bought on whim alone,
Now whispered tales of riches grown,
Numbers matched, the stars aligned,
A dream embraced, a life defined.

No longer bound by worry’s chain,
No more the pinch of month-end strain,
Ben’s heart with joy did sing,
As wealth became his newfound thing.

He thought of days in labour’s hold,
Of nights so cold, of stories old,
But now, the world in vibrant hues,
Invited him to pick and choose.

He shared his wealth with friends and kin,
For joy is more when shared within,
He built a home, he sailed the seas,
He planted trees, and he felt the breeze.

Yet through it all, he stayed the same,
A humble heart, a gentle flame,
For Ben knew what riches bring,
Are experiences lived, not precious bling.

A lottery won, a journey’s start,
But true wealth lives within the heart,
And Ben, blessed by fortune’s spin,
Found life’s real treasure lies within.
