You don’t need other people’s negativity

People’s negative vibrations can significantly impact those around them, often creating an atmosphere of tension and discomfort. Recognising and shielding yourself from these negative influences is crucial for maintaining emotional well-being and fostering a positive environment. The following story is about how this can be accomplished.

Ben had always been Jacklyn’s mentor, guiding her through the complexities of life with patience and wisdom. One sunny afternoon, they met at their favorite park, where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, casting a gentle pink hue over everything.

Jacklyn had been struggling with overwhelming emotions, feeling like a sponge absorbing the negativity around her. Ben noticed her distress and decided it was time to teach her a valuable lesson – how to raise a protective barrier against unwanted emotional reactions.

They found a quiet spot under a large oak tree, its branches providing a comforting shade. Ben began by asking Jacklyn to close her eyes and take deep breaths, encouraging her to focus on the sound of the wind rustling the leaves.

“Imagine you are surrounded by a bubble of light,” he said softly. “This light is your own personal space, your protective barrier. It keeps out negativity and allows only positive energy to pass through.”

Jacklyn, eyes closed, followed his instructions. She visualized a warm, golden light enveloping her, feeling its gentle embrace.

“Now,” Ben continued, “think of a time when you felt overwhelmed by someone else’s emotions. Picture it clearly.”

A recent argument with a colleague came to Jacklyn’s mind. She remembered the anger and frustration that had washed over her, leaving her drained.

“See that negative energy trying to enter your bubble,” Ben instructed. “But instead of letting it in, watch as your bubble deflects it. The light is strong and impenetrable.”

Jacklyn visualized the negative energy bouncing off her bubble, unable to penetrate the golden barrier. She felt a sense of relief and empowerment.

“Whenever you feel overwhelmed, return to this bubble,” Ben advised. “Strengthen it with your breath and your intention. Remember, you have control over what you allow into your space.”

They sat in silence for a few moments, Jacklyn soaking in the peace and protection of her imagined barrier. When she finally opened her eyes, she felt a newfound sense of calm.

“Thank you, Ben,” she said, smiling. “I feel different already.”

Ben nodded, his eyes twinkling with pride. “It’s a practice, Jacklyn. With time, it will become second nature. Remember, you’re not a sponge. You have the power to protect your emotional well-being.”

As they walked away from the park, Jacklyn felt lighter. The cherry blossoms fluttered around them like a gentle reminder of the beauty and tranquillity she now carried within her. With Ben’s guidance, she knew she could face life’s challenges with a resilient heart and a protected spirit.
