Ben always dreamed big. From a young age, he envisioned himself as an inventor, creating devices that would revolutionize the world. His room was filled with sketches of futuristic gadgets, and his spare time was spent tinkering with bits of electronics and scraps he could find.
However, every time Ben shared his dreams with people around him, he was met with scepticism. His classmates laughed at his wild ideas. “That’s impossible,” they would say. “Why don’t you focus on something more realistic?” Even some of his teachers advised him to be more practical, suggesting that he should concentrate on getting a stable job.

Despite the discouragement, Ben couldn’t let go of his dreams. But the negativity weighed on him, making him doubt himself. One day, feeling particularly defeated, he visited his grandfather, an old watchmaker who had always been a source of wisdom and comfort.
As they sat in the workshop, Ben poured out his heart. “Maybe everyone is right,” he said, staring at a half-finished watch on the table. “Maybe my dreams are too big.”
His grandfather paused his work and looked at Ben. “Do you know why I became a watchmaker?” he asked. Ben shook his head. “When I was your age, I wanted to create something that could measure time precisely, something small but significant. Many laughed at me, too. They said I was wasting my time. But I didn’t listen. Instead, I found those who believed in me and shared my passion.”
He leaned closer to Ben, his eyes twinkling. “Ben, never let small-minded people deter you from dreaming big. Surround yourself with those who uplift you. Not everyone will understand your vision, and that’s okay. Your dreams are yours to nurture and protect.”
