Are people capable of following strict rules?

Rules motivate people

“Rules are made to be broken.” The idea that Government restrictions are going to do anything about getting rid of the corona virus is ludicrous.

If you happened to hear about the story of 80 members of the Irish Oireachtas golfing society breaking the guidelines on Covid-19, the guidelines they helped draw up as members of the Irish Government, you’ll understand my skepticism.

Of course, the Irish are not on their own, there have been multiple examples of Government ministers from a number of countries breaking their own rules, or acting as if those rules don’t apply to them. If you want to read more stories, just Google. “Ministers breaking lockdown rules.”

The general public, rules & Covid-19.

Of course, if the general public had the ability to follow rules there wouldn’t be a need for jails, or courts for that matter. The question of whether you needed to defund the police force in America, or not? Wouldn’t be a question that needed to be asked. However, I don’t see those going anywhere in the near future. Especially if there are any more innocent shootings of Black people in America. Those events seem to spark an outbreak of looting and violence. The perfect way to protest how unhappy they are with society as it stands today.

Regarding Covid-19, the general public’s ability to follow strict social distancing rules is out there for everybody to see. The statistics don’t lie. The statistics are rising; however, you could point out, more people are being tested now and that’s the reason why the figures are rising. That is true, but you have to also realise the general public has to have the corona virus to be providing positive tests for the virus.

I’m fairly certain the virus will run its course, the restrictions the Governing bodies are putting in place will slow down the virus’ effect on the majority of the rule following public but that’s all it’s going to do because there are enough people breaking those rules to keep the virus spreading around the globe.

Covid-19 vaccine. If a vaccine is identified? It will take too long to produce enough of the vaccine to vaccinate all the people who need it, and by then the virus will most likely have mutated into a different form which will need a different vaccine. That’s not to mention the same number of people who’s breaking the rules on social distancing now will be matched by the number of conspiracy theorists who will refuse to take the vaccine.

Are people capable of following strict rules? A question asked and answered. Not enough people are, and that’s not going to surprise anyone either.

However, I’ll leave you with a question I would really like answered.

How many people have the corona virus antibody who never knew they had the virus? The answer could have us closer to herd immunity than anybody knows.
