Slowly, he started to feel a shift. He realised that true relaxation didn’t come from escaping his thoughts through alcohol but from learning to live with them in a more peaceful way. He could still think, still plan, but he didn’t need to be in control of everything all the time.
Ben’s mind hadn’t changed—it was still sharp, still analytical—but now, he had learned when to let go. He found that some of the most meaningful moments in life weren’t the ones where he had figured everything out, but the ones where he simply allowed himself to enjoy the view.
For the first time in a long time, Ben felt truly at peace with that.
P.S. If you sit in silence and wait to see what your next thought will be, no thoughts will arrive because you or an external source create your thoughts.
