Our lives are not as unique as we believe.
We often think of ourselves as walking a path no one has ever walked before, as if the details of our experiences set us apart from everyone else. But if we look closely, we’ll see that the milestones that shape our lives,”birth, love, growth, joy, conflict, loss,” are common to everyone.
Yes, the specifics of our stories vary: where we live, who we know, and what we do. But the deeper patterns, the emotions that move us, the challenges we face, and the questions we ask are strikingly similar. Across cultures, across centuries, we share the same longing for purpose, the same desire to be needed by someone, and the same fear of the unknown.

This realisation is both humbling and comforting. It shows that we are not as alone as we sometimes feel. Others have walked similar paths. Our struggles, our hopes, our joys—they echo through the lives of the millions who came before us and those who will come after us.
So, while we may each live a unique version of the human experience, at its core, that experience connects us all. In that connection, we can find peace.
P.S. our lives are more similar than different.
