Regretted not reacting with lethal force

There are multiple ways of reacting to violence. Lethal force should always be the last resort because it’s never the right thing to do.

Reacting to violence

People react to violent behaviour in a variety of ways, depending on their personality, past experiences, and the situation itself. Some might freeze, unable to process what’s happening, while others might instinctively try to run away to escape the danger. There are also those who feel a surge of adrenaline and respond by fighting back or attempting to defend themselves or others. Still, some people may try to de-escalate the situation by talking it down or finding a peaceful solution. These reactions are often unpredictable and vary from person to person.

Regret

However, some people regret not responding to violence with lethal force, feeling they missed a chance to protect themselves or someone else. This regret often comes from a sense of helplessness or frustration for not acting when they felt it mattered most. In retrospect, they may believe that fighting back could have changed the outcome. But over time, many also realise that avoiding more violence may have been the right decision, as escalating situations often bring more harm than good.

Conclusion

A strong person will always sue for peace. It’s a pity that there’s not more strong people in the world.
