Stories and essays on identity, creative thought, and everyday common sense.

Are you living with somebody you don’t like.

Have you ever caught yourself observing your own behaviour, realising you could change for the better—but choosing not to? If so, you might be stuck with a version of yourself that you don’t even like.

You see, self-awareness is a powerful tool, but without action, it can feel like a burden. Recognising our flaws and understanding the potential for growth is the first step, but change doesn’t happen just by knowing—we have to do something about it.

“Why do we resist change? Often, it’s fear—fear of the unknown, fear of vulnerability, or fear of taking risks, even when we know our current state isn’t serving us. Other times, it’s the comfort of familiarity; bad habits may not be ideal, but they feel safe and predictable. And sometimes, it’s simply inertia—the sheer effort required to change feels overwhelming, so we stay where we are, even if it’s not where we want to be.”

But here’s the truth: You are not stuck. You don’t have to live with a version of yourself that you dislike. Growth is a choice, and every small step forward is a step toward a life that feels better, more fulfilling, and more aligned with who you want to be.

It’s never too late to love yourself enough to make the changes you want to see.
