Don’t leave home without it

Your Sense of Humour Is Your Most Important Carry-On Item.

Whatever you do, don’t leave home without it.

Some people forget their house key.
A true modern tragedy — but solvable.

Others forget their phone.
A digital amputation, but you’ll live (Maybe).

But the one thing you absolutely can’t venture out without is your sense of humour.

Forget this, and the day will happily chew you up and use your bones to pick its teeth.

Life has a nasty habit of testing your sanity before your caffeine levels have even registered.

The coffee machine won’t just malfunction — it will splutter like a diesel car running on petrol.

Your morning commute will feature a driver who confuses the merge lane with an audition for a Mad Max sequel.

Your inbox will contain at least one email so passively aggressive. It could solve the Middle East crisis through sheer subtext.

A sense of humour doesn’t make the chaos disappear.
It just gives it a funnier hat.

It’s the alchemy that turns a catastrophic day into an award-winning anecdote.
It’s the psychological WD-40 for the squeaky, grinding gears of human interaction.

Let’s be clear: humour isn’t a frivolous accessory.
It’s essential survival gear.

It’s the universal language that translates a shared eye-roll into a fleeting friendship with a stranger.
And on some days, it’s the only thing standing between you and the compelling — yet socially frowned-upon — urge to start cackling in a quiet meeting with the boss.

So tomorrow, as you perform the pre-departure pocket pat-down, be thorough:
Keys? Present.
Wallet? Accounted for.
Phone? A portal to both knowledge and despair.
Sense of humour? Locked, loaded, and ready to deploy.

Because if you can find the laugh, you’ve already found your way out.
